Developed With Experts, Designed for Everyone.
Septo began with a simple question: Why do infections too often go unnoticed until it’s too late?
What started as a student-led project soon evolved into a mission to bridge the gap between clinical care and everyday accessibility. Too many patients, especially those with limited mobility, face preventable infections that stem from lack of early detection and proper wound management. Septo set out to change that.
From the beginning, our journey has been one of collaboration. We connected with experts across healthcare, biomedical engineering, and product design, building an advisory network that helped transform an early-stage concept into a fully realized innovation. With their insight, we identified key gaps in infection control, from inconsistent monitoring to inadequate at-home tools, and worked to design a solution that addresses both.
The result is Septo: a dual-function, X-shaped bandage that combines antimicrobial release with real-time infection indication. It comfortably wraps around high-risk areas, continuously releasing antimicrobial agents to reduce bacterial growth while also providing visible cues that signal early signs of infection. Septo doesn’t just respond—it prevents.
Our advisory members continue to play a vital role in refining and expanding Septo’s impact, helping us navigate the intersection of science, design, and accessibility. Together, we’re creating more than a product. We’re shaping a new standard for proactive, patient-centered care.
